How it all began

I started Stylish Soirées in 2015, after organising a party for my youngest daughter, Sophie. I’d always loved organising birthday celebrations for my two girls, but I really went to town with this one!

I hired items from another business and combined them with my own pieces, and then got to work creating a magical princess party theme. I was thrilled with the results (happily, so was Sophie!), and everything came together beautifully.

The idea of having a gorgeous party without having to do the work obviously appealed to others, because pretty soon afterwards I was asked to do a fairy party for one of my nieces. That went brilliantly as well, and all of a sudden I seemed to be the go-to person for pretty parties.

My husband said, “You should do this professionally, you love this”. So I registered a business name, got the word out about Stylish Soirées… and the rest is history!

My parties have certainly changed since this first one, but I’m still wearing all black!

Seven years have passed by in a flash, and Sophie’s now 11, while Lucy, my eldest, is 14. Over the years the two of them have helped me pack endless boxes into cars, been models in photo shoots and guinea pigs when I’ve tested new party ideas at their own birthdays… and now they actually help me on some jobs!

My little party planning business has expanded so much I now employ three casual staff members to help me out with the big events and a VA to keep everything on track. I’ve had to rent a warehouse to store my thousands of decorating products, and at a rough guess I’d say I’ve used about 100,000 balloons.
