We won!

It was my youngest daughter’s birthday on November 17th 2021, so that night a small group of us gathered to celebrate the fact that this hilarious, kind and sassy angel has been in our lives for 11 years.

We were all enjoying a drink and a slice of birthday cake, when I suddenly remembered that the 2021 Party Stylist of the Year awards were being announced that same night. I was super-excited, as Stylish Soirées had been nominated for an award, but in all the birthday madness it had slipped my mind.

Thankfully the birthday girl didn’t mind the limelight being taken off her for a few minutes, so we switched on YouTube to watch the live announcements.

And…

We won! Balloon Stylist of the Year 2021! I still can’t quite believe it.

The screams of joy were very loud. I was utterly thrilled to win, but also so touched to hear my family and friends get so excited for me. I adore my job, but it’s hard work and it means lots of weekends away from them all, so it was lovely to hear them be so genuinely happy for me.

It was especially lovely to be recognised and appreciated by this incredible industry. Congratulations to all of the finalists and everyone who entered – you all work so hard, and give your heart and soul to your businesses. It’s an honour to work with, and be inspired by, so many talented businesses in Australia.

And at the risk of this sounding like an Oscars’ acceptance speech, I’d just like to say a massive thank you to a few people:
